Bikes of the month – March 2019
We decided to share with you, each month, bikes we particularly love and the men behind these builds. Not necessary the very last build – it could be, but the bikes we would love having in our garage to ride with. You may have seen some of them already, but perhaps you don’t know who was behind the build…Here are the bikes we want to share with you this month:
Royal Enfield Trial 1960 Ltd
Baak Motocyclettes – France
Hard to determine the number of days of work as we re-designed many parts in order to make a small-scale series of this bike project.
”The idea was to realize a classic trial machine, inspired by the 60’s, able to lead its rider on the road to. She must be really efficient for trial action, and be in adequacy with the aesthetic codes of the Royal Enfield trial bikes of that period. For Baak, this is the closest thing to a replica.” Rémi
What was your first bike?
A 103SP Peugeot
Your preferred stock bike (actual or old)? why?
Moto Guzzi V85 – because its aesthetic is opposed with the market codes where she stands for, the lines are really well designed, she calls up to the escape, and because her classic look is timeless
Something funny / amazing / strange / epic experienced and related to a motorcycle?
An half French tour with a 103SP Peugeot, with a homemade trailer on its back. A trip with a small bike offer a brand new vision of pleasure on 2 wheels. We discover landscapes differently and people’s love for that kind of bikes creates unexpected encounters. So it is not a real anecdote but a set of anecdotes related to this journey that was one of my most remarkable.
Do you take inspiration out of the motorcycle industry (artists, music,…)
Of course! This is the best way to be a great trendsetter. Our team draws its inspiration from the fashion market, automobile, design furniture…

Persistent, creative and hard worker
If not a bike builder, what would have been your daily work?
I would definitely live from my creative activities, like today. Probably in the optic industry.
“On Any sunday”, what does it means to you?
It refers to the privileged moment of pleasure that a bike can offer to its owner. It can be considered as a solitary pleasure because we are alone on the handlebars, but in fact, it is more a moment of sharing with friends or people we meet on the road, astonished by the motorcycles we ride. For us who work in the motorcycle industry, it is an inspiration and a great opportunity to get out of the workshop to enjoy the work done in the previous months.

”The style of the motorbike is a vintage tracker, street legal and flattrack race bike!We wanted the motorbike to look like a vintage tracker from the 70s, having classical lines but also some more modern parts, in order to be able to ride out in the streets.” Nikos
What was your first bike?
Honda C50
Your preferred stock bike (actual or old)? why?
Always an old one for the simplicity of the engine and because the bikes back in the days had a character by themselves.
Something funny / amazing / strange / epic experienced and related to a motorcycle?
The Rotten Race for us it’s something insane. Everybody dressed up with crazy costumes and totally insane bikes.
Do you take inspiration out of the motorcycle industry (artists, music,…)
Definitely by the free spirit of the 70s and road stories. After all our name, The Real Intellectuals, was inspired by the book “on the road”, Jack Kerouac.

mmm… I don’t know, Simple, kind & passionate.
If not a bike builder, what would have been your daily work?
I’m not really a bike builder, I’m creative person and I love to travel!!!
“On Any sunday”, what does it means to you?
Take your bike, two good friends and ride out… anywhere you can feel happy and free!

It’s a tricky question, Ducati V4 is amazing. But I love the retro rides!
Something funny / amazing / strange / epic experienced and related to a motorcycle?
It is epic when we talk with some people and they have our builds has screen savers ou favorite pictures. The reaction from people to our bike is something that make keep us going.
Do you take inspiration out of the motorcycle industry (artists, music,…)
From every detail of live. Inspiration is all around each corner.

Hark worker, dreamer, creative
If not a bike builder, what would have been your daily work?
Something that make me feel happy, probably jobs that let me flow my creativity.

At every moment! Life is this, happiness is this, enjoying every moment!
